LaneSentry resident portal

More than a gate remote.
A connected community.

A remote opens a gate. LaneSentry manages who can enter, when they can enter, and the record of their visit — with residents in control of their own guests.

  • Resident vehicles

Registered plates make everyday arrivals touchless.

  • Guest invitations

Residents create and share time-limited QR passes.

  • Community oversight

Managers oversee access rules and review entry records.

Where the savings come from

Staffing a single gate around the clock takes several guards' worth of shifts every week. Automating entry lets communities consolidate or remove fixed posts while keeping security in place.

Traditional guarded gate

  • Paid guard coverage at every post, every shift
  • Lines at the gate during busy hours
  • Handwritten or incomplete visitor logs
  • Vulnerability to security vendor staffing shortages

LaneSentry automated gate

  • Residents enter automatically by plate or QR code
  • Guests arrive with passes residents created
  • Every entry logged with time and photo
  • Guards redeployed to patrol — or reduced

How it works

AI plate recognition at the gate

Registered resident vehicles are recognized on approach and the gate opens automatically — no waving, no lines, no guard needed.

QR backup for every resident

Missing front plate, rental car or a misread? Residents scan their personal QR code and drive through.

Guest passes from the resident portal

Residents issue time-limited QR passes to guests, contractors and deliveries themselves, without calling the gate.

Every entry verified and logged

Each entry records the plate or credential, time and photo, giving the board a complete, searchable audit trail.

No on-site computer

Cameras, readers and gate controllers connect directly to PlateSentry over the booth's existing internet.

Turnkey or use what you have

We supply cameras, QR readers, mounts and controllers — or connect to the gate operators your community already owns.

A phased rollout your board can trust

  1. 1

Phase 1: Site survey & hardware setup

We assess each entrance — gate operators, lanes, power and internet — then install cameras, QR readers and gate controllers.

  2. 2

    Phase 2: Resident onboarding

Residents register their vehicles and receive personal QR codes. Guest pass creation goes live in the resident portal.

  3. 3

    Phase 3: Supervised pilot

Automation runs live while guards stay on duty to observe, assist and confirm reliability before any staffing changes. Single-gate communities pilot with staff watching the automated lane; communities with multiple entrances can automate one first while others stay staffed. The pilot continues until the board is satisfied with recognition accuracy and traffic flow.

  4. 4

    Phase 4: Guard coverage restructured

With automation proven, the community reduces guard posts to roving patrol or peak-hour help — or removes fixed posts entirely.

Pricing

Gate automation is quoted per community based on the number of gates and lanes, community size, and the hardware your site needs. You compare the proposed cost against your current guard coverage and staffing goals, and all pricing is provided up front before any work begins.

Common questions

Does this work if our community only has one gate?

Yes. PlateSentry automates any number of entrances. Single-gate communities run a supervised pilot with guards observing the automated lane before staffing changes; multi-gate communities can automate one entrance first while others stay staffed.

What happens when a car has no front plate or the camera can't read it?

Every resident also has a personal QR code. If the plate isn't recognized, the driver scans their QR code at the reader and the gate opens.

How do guests and deliveries get in?

Residents create time-limited QR passes for guests from their PlateSentry portal. Recurring vendors and services can be given scheduled codes, and every entry is logged with time, plate and credential.

Do we need a computer in the guard booth?

No. Cameras, QR readers and gate controllers connect to PlateSentry over the booth's existing internet connection. There is no on-site PC to freeze, overheat or get unplugged.

Can you use our existing gates and gate arms?

In most cases, yes. PlateSentry connects to standard commercial gate operators. We can also supply a complete turnkey package of cameras, QR readers, mounts and controllers.

What happens during a power or internet outage?

Gates keep their manufacturer fail-safe behavior, emergency vehicle access stays in place, and staff can override manually. Entries resume logging as soon as the connection returns.

What does it cost?

Gate automation is quoted per community based on the number of gates and lanes, community size, and the hardware your site needs. You compare the proposed cost against your current guard coverage and staffing goals, and all pricing is provided up front before any work begins.
